At the Coalface Workwear we offer three branding methods. The right one for you depends on your garment type, logo complexity and budget.
Branding Options
Embroidery
Best for polos, corporate wear, caps, jackets, and premium uniform pieces.
PROS
– Looks premium and high-end
– Done in-house, so it's faster — we digitise the logo ourselves
– Very durable — holds up well through repeated washing and drying
THINGS TO CONSIDER
– Highly detailed logos can be tricky to reproduce in thread
– Priced per thread count — large back logos can get expensive
– For big placement areas, digital print is often better value
Note: The embroidery hoop needs room to fit, so it won't work in tight spots like inside a long sleeve. Most common placements (front left chest, back) are totally fine. If you need sleeve branding, we'd recommend digital print instead.
Digital Print
Great for casual tees, promotional apparel, and designs with a lot of detail or colour.
PROS
– Handles highly detailed logos with ease
– More cost effective for large placements like a full back
– Vibrant, full colour results
THINGS TO CONSIDER
– Decals are ordered from our supplier, so lead time is slightly longer
– Sizes must be locked in when the deposit is paid — they can't be changed once the decals are ordered
– Colour matching depends on what's available on the supplier's colour chart — you can come in-store to check this before committing
– Not quite as wash resistant as embroidery over the long term
Note: Colours may not be an exact match to your brand's specific hex or Pantone. We have the colour chart in-store and you're welcome to have a look in person before the job goes ahead.
Sublimation
Available through selected Fashion Biz styles, ideal for all-over branding and high-performance apparel.
PROS
– All-over, edge to edge print capability
– Perfect for sports and high performance garments
– Full-colour, vibrant designs
THINGS TO CONSIDER
– Only available on selected Fashion Biz garment styles
– Requires polyester based fabrics
Note: Not sure if sublimation is right for your project? Come in store and we can show you examples and walk you through the compatible options.
Brands we recommend
We source garments from a range of quality brands to suit different looks, purposes, and budgets. Here's a few we can recommend:
AS Colour - Modern casual wear that includes premium tees, hoodies and lifestyle apparel with a clean, quality finish.
Goodmates - Casual tees and lifestyle inspired styles that work great for a relaxed, contemporary brand look.
NNT - Professional corporate uniforms, scrubs and office wear. Polished and functional for client facing roles.
Fashion Biz - Versatile corporate and teamwear options, scrubs and hospitality uniforms, including sublimation ready styles for all over branding.
We can work with you to find the right balance between corporate presentation, comfort, and brand consistency across your team.
How To Place An Order With Us
Step 1 — Visit us in store or online
Come in and have a look at what we have available. If you need multiples of the same size and colour, we'll likely need to order the garments in and we will take care of that for you.
Step 2 — Send us your logo
Don't worry about file format send us whatever you have in high resolution. We'll digitise it for embroidery or vectorise it for digital print. The cost of this is included in a one time setup fee of $50.
Step 3 — Select your gear
The minimum for a first order is 5 garments, but they don't all have to be the same style. For example, you could do 2 jumpers, 3 shirts, and a hat as long as they all carry the same logo.
Step 4 — Approve your quote and pay your deposit
We'll send through a full quote for you to check over. Once you're happy with everything, we'll need a 50% deposit to get the job started. If you've ordered online, the garment cost acts as your deposit but you'll still need to approve the job before anything begins.
Step 5 — Approve your mockup
For all new jobs, we'll send through a digital mockup for you to sign off on. We don't start production until you've given us your full approval no exceptions.
Step 6 — Production
Once approved, your order goes into production. Allow up to 4 working weeks for new orders and 2 working weeks for repeat jobs. Smaller orders are usually quicker. Lead times can vary at busy times of year (like EOFY) we will always give you an estimated time frame when we send the quote and we will keep you updated as the job progresses.
Step 7 — Quality check and collection
Every order goes through an internal quality check before it's released so please allow up to 24 hours for this. Once it's done, your order is ready for collection in store or we can post it to you. If it's going in the post, full payment needs to be received before we dispatch. You'll receive tracking via email once it's on its way.
Step 8 — Enjoy and tag us!
Once you receive your order, snap a pic of your team or leave us a review of how we did! We love to see our happy customers enjoying our work and feedback is important to us.
Frequently Asked Questions About Branding
Q: Can you brand garments I bring in from elsewhere?
A: As a general rule, no. In the unlikely event of a machine fault, we wouldn't be able to replace a garment we didn't supply — and we stock a wide range, so we can source most things you'd need. That said, if you have a large job on and want to include a few outside items, have a chat with us before we send the quote and we'll see what we can do.
Q: Can I rush my order?
A: For embroidery, yes rush production is available at an additional $5 per item. Get in touch and we'll do our best to turn it around.
Q: Will I see a preview before the job starts?
A: Yes, always. We send a digital mockup for you to approve before any work begins. Nothing goes into production until we have your sign-off.
Q: How long does it take?
A: New orders can take up to 4 working weeks. Repeat jobs (same logo, same setup) are usually within 2 working weeks. Smaller orders are often faster. We'll confirm your ETA when we send the quote.
Q: Can you do Promotional items?
A: YES! We can also brand promotional items like water bottles, golf balls, and more. Ask us in-store or send us an email for details. These are great for events, giveaways, team bonding, Christmas gifts and client gifts.
